Welcome!

We have worked in childcare centers for the last 10 years or so. We love working with children and have a passion for teaching. We have switched to family child care because we want the opportunity to be able to focus more on building relationships. In order to enhance the education process and to be able to focus on social/emotional understanding.

About us

Because we have worked in centers before we are a combination of the best aspects of each type of program. The best part of a family childcare and the main reason we switched is the opportunity to focus more on relationships with the children throughout their entire childhood. Instead of having a different group of children every few months. It is also easier to focus more on relationships with the smaller group size of a family childcare.

What we have learned from our time working in centers is the educational side of things. We are both parent aware lead teacher qualified, have worked in accredited programs and are on step 9D of the Minnesota Career Lattice. We know the benefits of learning through play along with a structured routine.

We are located at:
4343 162nd Ave NE
Ham Lake, MN 55304

Curriculum

Our curriculum is focused on Mandarin/English bilingual education with an emphasis on nature studies. We have the benefit of having a native speaker as the language teacher.

Because we are primarily focused on Mandarin/English education we have times of structured learning for the older children. They learn basic mandarin communication skills. For the younger children the mandarin will be built into their daily routine. One example is that both Mandarin and English will be spoken throughout the day.

Our other focus is on nature studies. Children of all ages spend time outdoors everyday, weather permitting. Our outdoor area provides a variety of different options for learning through play. Outdoor play has many benefits, sand, water and mud play offer a variety of options to practice different science experiments. When gardening, bird watching and observing different weather patterns they learn about our natural environment.

We will also use “The Red Leaf Family Childcare Curriculum: Teaching Through Quality Care”. to guarantee that all of the developmental domains are being taught throughout the week.
